Edgefield County To Hold Public Meetings For Comprehensive Plan Input

EDGEFIELD - The Edgefield County Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee will hold a public hearing for comment to the draft Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan. The meeting will be held on February 12th at 7 PM in the County Council Chambers located at 215 Jeter St. in Edgefield, SC.

A copy of the draft Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan will be available on the county’s website on February 5th. The public may also review a copy of the draft plan at the Edgefield County Building and Planning Department located at 210 Penn St. Edgefield, S C.

Edgefield County is in the process of updating the Country’s Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation plan as required by the South Carolina Planning Enabling Act. The update will include chapters on population, economic development natural and cultural resources, community facilities, housing, land use, transportation, and priority investment. The meeting will consist of a short presentation by the county’s planning consultants and an opportunity for the community to provide input concerning the plan. Written comments may also be submitted to the Building and Planning Department or ksingletary@edgefieldcounty.sc.gov by noon on February 15th.
