Edgefield Downtown Choc-around a success

web posted February 8, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield Downtown Choc-around was held Thursday afternoon with fifteen Edgefield businesses participating in the event that ran from 4 until 8 pm. “Passports” listing all of the participating businesses were made available. Once shoppers visiting the businesses had at least eight of the businesses punched out they could enter the passport to be eligible for an “Over The Top” basket filled with gifts from the participating businesses.

Though things got off to a slow start shoppers began converging on the stores by 5 pm and were treated to chocolate treats at the participating locations. Jerry Galloy, of Glass Images at 206 Buncombe Street, said he was pleased with the ongoing events and thought it brought additional shoppers to Edgefield.

A larger crowd was found at Petal Pushers, located at 304 Buncombe Street in the Piazza (above), Still Magnolias on Main Street (left), and Paperwhites located on the Square.

The participating businesses were:

Edgefield Office Supply, 307 Main St.

Edgefield Floral Shop, 208 Lynch St.
Park Row Market No. 1, 108 Courthouse Square
The Region 2 Discovery Center, 405 Main St.
