In Edgefield - First a Bear, Now This

web posted February 10, 2014

EDGEFIELD A reader from Edgefield sent in a photograph of a mostly albino deer spotted near W. E. Parker on Friday. The reader stated she had seen the doe previously, but this time was ready with a cell phone camera to record the sighting. The deer appears to have a light brown head and neck, and then turns to white over the rest of the body. Deer in Edgefield are common and not spooked by residents in the area due to no hunting.

A few weeks ago a reader sent in a bear in Edgefield that was captured on a trail-cam, which set off many comments to the Wandering Minds about whether bears were actually here until another reader sent in a photo that was unmistakably a bear in Merriwether.

Readers are requested to send in photos of interesting wildlife from around the county to share with other readers. We will not reveal your identity unless requested.
