Comment after purchase starts fraud investigation web posted February 19, 2009 EDGEFIELD – The manager of the CVS Store in Apple Square called the Sheriff’s Office to report a possible fraud and suspicious activity. A white male between the ages of 45 and 50 entered the store twice and made purchases using a Visa card. When he made the second purchase the man reportedly said, “It worked! I just found this card in the parking lot.” After the man left the manager pulled the transaction records and called the corporate office to track the information for the cardholder, which would take 48 hours, according to incident reports. The case has been turned over to the Investigative Division of the Sheriff’s Office for further review. The man using the card was described as a white male, around 5’ 7” tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds with brown hair. The total amount of the purchases made was $12.90. © Copyright 2009
