 Pit Bulls at center of another animal abuse case web posted February 26, 2008 EDGEFIELD – Pit bulls have once again made the list of animal cruelty and abandonment cases, this time being left behind after the owner was evicted from the home. The Sheriff’s Animal Control Officer was called to a home on the 300 block of Gary Hill Road in Edgefield with a complaint of two dogs being chained up with no food or water. When Deputies arrived at the scene two pit bulls were found chained to the fence with no food or shelter. Both dogs were reported as being “malnourished” and one being more severe than the other. The dogs were fed by Animal Control and photographed in the condition they were found before being taken into custody. The owner has been identified and warrants are being sought in the case. The pit bulls are being held at the Aiken County Animal Shelter until a court date. No date was provided in reports obtained Monday. ©
