Children’s Art Show and Book Fair at Discovery Center

EDGEFIELD – Edgefield County third and fourth graders have a chance to show off their artistic abilities during a St. Patrick’s Day themed exhibit at the Freshwater Coast Discovery Center. The coloring entries will be on display from Tuesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 20. Parents are encouraged to visit the center on Wednesday, March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day) from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. for special St. Patrick’s Day treats and a book fair.

The “Books are Fun” book fair will be open at the center from 10a.m. until 5p.m. and will feature literature for all ages. General interest, cooking, inspirational and children’s topics will be available as well as stationary and regional gifts.

This event is free and open to the public.

Through interpretive exhibits, historical information, a gift shop of local artists, and a rotating exhibit space, the Freshwater Coast Discovery of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor shares the heritage of Edgefield, McCormick, Abbeville, Greenwood and Saluda counties. The center is located at 405 Main Street in Edgefield, and is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission is free.
