Mays Way home burglarized Friday morning
web
posted March 20, 2010
EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield man arrived back
at his Mays Way home just after noon Friday to find his front door
kicked in and his home burglarized. The man told investigators he left
home around 9 am.
A Toshiba laptop computer and a .22 caliber rifle were the only items
to have been reported missing in available reports Friday afternoon.
The scene was processed for evidence with some reported success.
Deputies patrolled the area in an effort to locate a possible suspect
but were unsuccessful.
It is unknown at this time if the burglary is related to a number of
burglaries over the past two months across the county.
Chief Investigator Randy Doran said earlier in the week they have
linked two recent burglaries as being committed by the same person or
persons, and others appear to be isolated incidents at this time.
Residents are encouraged to call the Sheriff’s Office Dispatch at
083-637-5337 or 803-278-1625 to report suspicious persons or activity
on neighboring property.
