Kelly Hammond Benefit Golf Tournament raises over $6,000

web posted March 25, 2006

EDGEFIELD – The Kelly Hammond Benefit Golf Tournament was held on Friday with 111 players participating in the event. Sandy Byrd, one of the organizers, said over $6,000 was raised for Bill and Kelly Hammond. Bill Hammond thanked the crowd for their support and the funds raised to help Kelly during her Chemotherapy. “I want to say how much all this means to us, and me, from the bottom of my heart,” he said.

The tournament began at 9:30 am and all players were back at the Pine Ridge Country Club clubhouse by 1:30 pm. The team made up of Rhett Kirkland, Roy Fields, Stevie Steen, and David Ridgeway took the low score.

In addition to the great round of golf participants also bought tickets for door prizes that were donated by dozens of sponsors including putters, golf bags, tools, golf balls, hats, shirts, and many more. In addition, players were able to bid on the silent auction for a three night stay in Myrtle Beech, four rounds of golf at Mount Vintage, hand-made steel grills, among others.

All proceeds go directly to Kelly Hammond and family.

EdgefieldDaily.com was pleased to be able to offer advertisement for the benefit as well as participating in the event. Our prayers and thoughts stay with Bill and Kelly Hammond and their family.
