 Safe stolen during burglary web posted April 1, 2008 EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that occurred on Old Chapells Ferry Road near Edgefield Friday afternoon. The homeowner returned to her residence around 4:30 and went to place some money in her safe only to discover it was missing along with an undisclosed amount of jewelry. The woman contacted the Sheriff’s Department and an arriving deputy was shown where a side door had been pried open for the unknown culprit to gain access to the home. An Investigator arrived on the scene a short time later and began processing the home for evidence. According to the victim the safe contained several thousand dollars in large bills, an undisclosed amount of jewelry, and documents. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office at 803-637-5337 or 803-278-1625. ©
