  Dog shot in attack of livestock web posted April 8, 2008 EDGEFIELD – Another incident of dogs attacking farm animals have been reported with one of the dogs being shot by the owner of the animals killed. The most recent event took place on Peterson Lane last week when the property owner found three dogs in a goat pen and a dozen goats lying dead. When the property owner observed the attack she shot one of the dogs dead and the other two fled the scene. She was unsure how the three dogs got inside the enclosed pen. Reported killed by the dogs were six baby goats and six adult goats. The breed of the dogs were not available other than the dog killed was “brown” and the two others were “red and white”. The case has been forwarded on to Animal Control for further investigation. The loss of livestock was listed at $600 in an incident report made available by the Sheriff’s Office. ©
