Yelling, Cussing, Ignoring Deputies Equals Trip to Jail

web posted April 17, 2014

EDGEFIELD Sheriff's Deputies were sent to the Dodge's store on Augusta Road following a 911 call stating a man in a green shirt was yelling and creating a disturbance around 4 pm Tuesday. When deputies arrived they found Johnny Junior Washington, 29, of Edgefield yelling at an Aiken woman locked in her car at the gas pumps. As deputies approach he ignored them and continued cursing loudly.

Deputies tried to calm Washington down, but he ignored them and continued flailing his arms and yelling at the woman. After deputies tried to calm him down and telling him to lower his voice he was arrested. Then he directed his loud comments towards the deputies.

At one point he blamed the arrest as a "black / white thing".

According to an incident report, Washington was apparently "highly intoxicated" in addition to being belligerent.

He was booked on a single charge of disorderly conduct and released on Wednesday. A court date of May 21 was provided.
