Edgefield Team Defends Title in Jo-Nathan Golf Tournament

EDGEFIELD A total of 58 golfers participated in the 3rd Annual Jo-Nathan Foundation Golf Tournament which was held on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Goshen Plantation in Augusta, Ga. Russell Bryan (Team Captain), Jonathan Harling, Jeremy Courtney, and Scott Mims, all of Edgefield, defended their title by taking home the 1st place trophies for the third consecutive year. 2nd place honors went to Damien Dean, Jerry Edwards, Roger Edwards, and Roy Johnson.

The tournament is a fundraiser for The Jo-Nathan Foundation which was established in 2010 in honor/memory of Jonathan Simpkins. Since then the Foundation has been transforming into a positive movement to provide Experiences, Exposure, and Education to underprivileged youth.

The Jo-Nathan Foundation appreciates all of the support that was received from the community of Edgefield and surrounding areas. The support will allow the foundation to assist children attend various camps and various educational activities. This year the goal is to provide financial assistance to aid 30 youth attend various camps and to also provide school supplies for at least 750 children for the 2014-2015 school year.
