Hospital Thanks Auxiliary Members with Appreciation Dinner
web
posted April 28, 2010
EDGEFIELD – The
Edgefield County Hospital
held its annual Hospital Auxiliary Appreciation Dinner last week at
Pine Ridge Country Club. Board Chairman, Dr. B.E. Nicholson, gave the
welcome and the opening prayer was said by Board of Trustee member
Henry Kowalewski. A scrumptious dinner followed.
CEO Patricia Robinson remarked, "This is only a small way of saying,
'Thank you' for what you do all year.In addition to everything else you
do, you are all hospital ambassadors. Every time someone comes in and
is greeted with one of your smiles or
is treated to some of the delicious food you serve, you are marketing
our hospital."
Auxiliary Liaison Leslie Seigler reported that the auxiliary raised
$28,472.04 for the hospital last year.
Auxiliary President Cynthia Bull said the auxiliary is only able to do
what it does because of the people they work with. "We say thanks to
the Board. We love to work with the hospital. You all and Leslie are
what make it so successful," she said. "We appreciate that you let us
come in."
Seigler presented annual Hour Award Pins and door prizes to the
volunteers. Hour Award Pins were as follows: 500 Hours-Lou Gordon, Joan
Screnk and Virginia Weaver; 1,000 Hours-Mildred Glover; 1,500
Hours-Aline Crouch; and 2,000 Hours-Kitty Knowles,
Willie Mae Mattheny and Virginia Ouzts.
In closing, Board of Trustee member Tim Williams reminded everyone that
it is National Volunteer Week. "You raised $28,472," he said. "There's
not a recession here." He further added, "Edgefield has its issues, but
when times are tough, it's the place to be."
