Three charged for tossing drugs during traffic stop web posted May 17, 2007 EDGEFIELD – Three people, including an Edgefield teen, have been arrested for felony charges on Tuesday following a traffic stop on Sunday night. The car the three were in was stopped for failing to dim the headlights as they passed an Edgefield Police Officer on Bauskett Street. When the officer initiated the traffic stop he saw one of the occupants throw something out of a window on the passenger side of the car. The officer identified the driver and passengers and noted that the man sitting in the front passenger seat had his window rolled down. He issued two warnings to the driver and allowed them to continue on their way. As they departed he backed up to the location he observed the objects being thrown from the car. A short search found two plastic bags, one containing what was believed to be crack cocaine and the other powder cocaine. After taking the bags into evidence the car returned to the area and drove past the location. The officer then made another stop and asked about the drugs, which all denied knowing anything about. Warrants were obtained and the driver, Latavia Cain, 21, of Morgan Bussey Road, Aquiles Buggs, 34, of Brooks Street, and Lamar Bradley Butler, 17, of Cook Street all of Edgefield were arrested on Tuesday. They have been charged with one count each of possession of cocaine and possession of meth or cocaine based drugs and each was released on Wednesday on $2,000 bonds For
