Fundraisers continue for Edgefield teen injured in crash
web
posted May 18, 2010
EDGEFIELD – A fundraiser will be held on
Tuesday, June 15, to help offset the medical bills of 16-year-old
Candace Cordell who was critically
injured in a single car crash on Sweetwater Road on May 8. An
account has also been set up to receive direct donations. According to
the latest updates, Miss Cordell remains in serious condition and will
remain hospitalized for an extended period of time.
The North Augusta Chic-Fil-A on Knox Avenue will donate 15% of patron’s
bills towards the medical expenses on meals purchased between 5 and 8
pm on Tuesday, June 15. You will need to inform the clerk that you are
there for Candace Cordell in order for the donation to be made.
Friends of the family have set up an
account to receive donations to
help pay medical expenses. Donations can be made or mailed to the
Bank of America, 441 West Martintown Road, North Augusta, SC 29841, or
call (803) 279-0034 for more information.
A report on Monday night
indicated that she is now breathing on her own and the respirator has
been removed, although there have been no further improvements. She is
suffering from head trauma and severe spinal injures.
She was set to graduate from Fox Creek High School this year.
