Dunk the Editor at Razzle Dazzle 225th Birthday Celebration today

web posted May 22, 2010
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield Community Development Association (ECDA) will be holding a celebration of the 225th Anniversary of Edgefield and Edgefield County on the Town Square today from 10 am until 4 pm. Edgefield Daily has sponsored the dunking booth to help raise funds for the ECDA and Editor Roy Blackwell will take to the platform at 12:30 pm.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Blackwell said. “If my detractors think I make them mad with my opinion columns, just wait until I get to taunt and heckle them from a dunking booth. I am a far better speaker than I am a writer.”

County Council candidate Scott Mims is also scheduled to sit in the booth, though the time was not available.

Edgefield Daily will donate $1 each time a local county candidate or elected official is dunked in the dunking booth up to $100. “I challenge my detractors to make the same pledge for dunking me,” Blackwell said.
