  Dodges Store robbed at gunpoint web posted May 30, 2010 : 8:29 am EDGEFIELD – Three armed men robbed Dodges Store in Edgefield just before 7:30 Sunday morning and made their escape in a black Pontiac Grand Am heading south. Two Edgefield County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted the car traveling on Highway 25 leading to a two state pursuit involving several local agencies. The men turned onto Bettis Academy Road heading into Aiken County as the high speed chase continued onto westbound I-20 where North Augusta Police tried to use stop-sticks to bring the chase to an end unsuccessfully. The chase continued into Richmond County in Georgia where Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputies took over the lead. The chase continued along Washington Road where deputies again tried to deploy stop-sticks. The thee men later jumped from the car and fled the scene on foot. After a foot pursuit two of the men were apparently taken into custody. We will have more updates as information becomes available. © Copyright 2010
