Your tax dollars at work Edgefielddaily.com web posted June 28, 2005  Edgefield Daily.com could not resist showing the people of the Town of Edgefield how their tax dollars were being spent. Monday we saw a grounds crew of the town trimming the few shrubs in the town square. We just wondered why it took three men with hedge trimmers to trim a few shrubs as three men with rakes and one with a shovel waited for enough to fall to clean up. Of course, do not forget two men to watch the other seven consume your tax dollars. We watched as the entire group “worked” (and watched others work) for more than an hour. They were still “working” when we left the square. We did notice one shovel sitting on the ground. Perhaps they called for backup so someone could lean on that shovel also.  "Workers" began to
hide or act busy when they saw they were being photgraphed. Below is
