Stolen Wrecker Found in Aiken County

web posted July 8, 2014

EDGEFIELD A wrecker stolen from the tow yard of Pendarvis Chevrolet early Saturday morning has been found and returned to the owner Monday. Aiken County Sheriff Deputies found the wrecker abandoned on Hampton Circle in Belvedere Monday morning and notified the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office.

According to information provided, the person or persons responsible had removed the lettering of Pendarvis Chevrolet from the doors on the cab of the wrecker. The wrecker was processed for evidence and some evidence, though not specific in nature, was recovered, an investigator said.

At this time investigators do not have a possible suspect.

There was also a report of a car stolen during the time following the theft of the wrecker. At this time there is no connection between the two thefts, however; the possibility is being investigated. A description of the car was not available as the incident report is not expected to be released until Tuesday.

Edgefield Daily will have a follow up report on the stolen car when more information becomes available.
