Cow crash turns into bull

web posted July 17, 2007
EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield County Sheriff’s Deputy and a South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper arrived at the scene of a car crash involving a cow just before 1pm Sunday. The woman driving stated to officers that as she was driving she hit a cow that was in the roadway. The woman then said she stopped before striking the cow, but it grew angry and kicked the side of her car.

Officers did observe minor damage to the left front portion of the car. Officers were also able to confirm that there were cows in the roadway when the woman drove down the road.

The deputy was able to find the owner of the cows who was working in the field at the time of the incident. The cattle’s owner stated the woman drove by, came to a stop, and turned on her flashers without ever making contact with any of the cows.

Upon hearing the witness account the woman stated the damage happened elsewhere and she did not want to file a report. Officers cleared the call and resumed normal patrol.
