Elderly can receive free legal services in
Edgefield County Edgefielddaily.com web posted July 23, 2005 EDGEFIELD - Due to funding provided by the Older Americans Act, the Upper Savannah Elderly Legal Services offers elderly citizens a way to have legal services paid for by the funding. The offer is for senior citizens age 60 or older. The Elderly Legal Services Program can pay for legal fees for several services; Development of a simple will or for a will revision; execution of financial powers of attorney (durable powers of attorney); Appointments of a guardian or conservator; Resolution of issues of age discrimination; Resolution of denial of public benefits, and Resolution of landlord/tenant housing issues where the senior is at risk of eviction.
