Crash closes Bypass Edgefielddaily.com web posted July 23, 2005 EDGEFIELD - Around 11:30 Friday night a tractor trailer rig traveling the Highway 25 bypass jack-knifed and blocked the bypass for well over an hour. According to limited reports and deadlines Edgefield Daily.com was only able to confirm that a tractor trailer truck was involved in a single vehicle accident on the Highway 25 Bypass which left a large portion of the truck blocking both lanes of the highway. Dispatchers said a portion of the truck was in the ditch and the rest was blocking the roadway. No serious injuries were reported. Heavy duty wreckers were needed to right the truck and traffic began to back up on the bypass as service providers were over a half an hour away. Edgefield County Deputies and Edgefield Police diverted traffic until the wreckage could be cleared. At deadline time the roadway was still blocked. July 23, 12:34 am Return to Main Page
