Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted man in Edgefield web posted July 25, 2007 EDGEFIELD – Edgefield Police arrested a wanted man after a traffic stop just after 9 pm Monday night. While an officer was running stationary radar on Buncombe Street he noticed a car traveling south with only one headlight and conducted a traffic stop. The driver provided a provisional license and stated she was not supposed to drive after 9pm. The officer then had the young woman and her passenger step out of the car. After being given permission to search the car the officer found a black tote bag in the backseat where Ulyses Mallory, 36, of Estell SC was sitting. Inside the tote bag police found a plastic bag tied up with what appeared to be marijuana inside. Mr. Mallory was arrested and placed into handcuffs at that time. The driver, 17-year-old Janell Marie Josephine Miller, of Banner Elk, NC, was found to have a rolled up plastic bag containing what was also believed to be marijuana in her pants pocket and was also arrested. A records check came back stating Mr. Mallory was wanted by Hanahan authorities and that officials would extradite on the outstanding warrant. Both individuals were transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center for booking and the vehicle was towed from the scene. For
