  Landmark site of copper theft web posted August 28, 2007 EDGEFIELD – Edgefield Police were called to the Village Inn on the Edgefield Town Square Monday morning after construction workers arrived and found someone broke into the hotel, which is currently under renovations, and made off with at least $2,000 in material. Workers told police that a large amount of copper piping and electrical wiring that was being used in the remolding project was missing. The point of entry into the building was not provided. There were no suspects listed on police reports. The case is currently under investigation by the Edgefield Police Department. For
