Wanted man sought in car theft web posted August 29, 2006 EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield woman called the Sheriff’s Office to report her 1995 green 4-door Nissan Sentra stolen from her home on the 1100 block of Jeter Street around 7:30 Saturday morning. When the deputy arrived, the woman said Jason Highley, 26, woke her up fussing about a number on her caller ID, the report read. The woman also claimed that Mr. Highley threw a glass at her and tried to hit her. The woman said Mr. Highley took her car keys and told her when the police find the car it would be damaged. She stated Mr. Highley left her residence and drove towards Edgefield. The deputy placed a BOLO on the vehicle in an attempt to recover it. The woman was also concerned due to her house key being on the key ring. There was no indication how Mr. Highley was able to gain access to the home. Officers patrolled the area in search of the vehicle but were unsuccessful in locating it. Later in the day, the deputy spoke with the woman at her job. The woman said Mr. Highley had called her there and stated the threat to damage the car again because she called the police. Mr. Highley has outstanding warrants for his arrest already and a warrant for grand larceny would be sought for the car theft. Mr. Highley did not appear on jail records provided Monday. For
