Deputy discovers burglary during patrol web posted August 30, 2006 EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield County Deputy on routine property check discovered a burglary. While checking a home on the 900 block of Youngblood Road the deputy found someone had pried or kicked in the front door to the home. After checking the property and determining no one was inside the homeowner was contacted and came to meet with the deputy. Once the owner arrived it was determined that nothing inside the home was missing, however, it was discovered that a shed in the back had also been entered and items were taken from there. From the shed several welding tools were thought to be missing as well as other possible tools. A safe that was in the shed had a hole cut in the top with a welding torch in an attempt to gain access to the safe. It was not believed that the safe was breached. In total over $5,000 worth of property or damage was done in the burglary. The case remains active and has been taken over by the Investigative Division of the Sheriff’s Office for follow up. For
