Grandfamily Week kicks off Sept 11 at Edgefield Library web posted August 31, 2010 EDGEFIELD – Grandfamily Week and the Grandfamily Resource Center are funded by a grant from the SC State Library will be kicking off next month at the Edgefield Public Library. Light snacks are served at each of the week’s events. Although these programs are intended for grandparents raising their grandchildren, they are open to anyone who would like to attend. Kick-Off Breakfast 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 11 Introducing the new Grand Family Resource Center at the Edgefield County Public Library (ECPL). Includes a light breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee for grandparents and their grandchildren. Positive Behavioral Interventions 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 13 Presented by Pro-Parents, this workshop focuses on positive behavioral interventions to put into practice with children with disabilities and ADHD. Snacking with Grandchildren 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14 This presentation by Clemson Extension discusses the important role of nutrition in your grandchild’s development. Please bring your grandchildren for some delicious snacks. Reading with Your Grandchildren 6:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16 1st Steps and ECPL present tips on how to help grandchildren succeed in school.
