“Billion Dollar Man” jailed again on felony charge
web posted September 1, 2010
EDGEFIELD – For the second time this
summer, William
Singletary - who is suing the Sheriff’s Office, Town of Edgefield, the
Edgefield Police Department, and a vast numbers of officials for a $1
billion - has been arrested on a felony charge. Singletary was taken
into custody Monday afternoon and charged with making a false report of
a felony after reporting his home was being burglarized on August 26
when it was not.
According to an incident report in the case, Mr. Singletary called to
report the burglary at his home and tried to disguise his voice and
refused to give him name during the 911 call. A deputy responded to the
call and found no evidence of a burglary taking place and no suspects
around the home.
A recording of the call was reviewed and Singletary was identified as
the caller resulting in a warrant for his arrest to be issued. He is
currently being held on a $5,000 bond.
In the month of August Mr. Singletary has called 911 to report various
crimes taking place at least eight times and is listed in at least ten
incident reports. Some pages of which contain sexually explicit
information not suitable for publication.
Singletary was arrested
last
month on drug charges and was held on $45,000 in bonds before
being released. Singletary was charged with four counts of
manufacture/possession/distribution of drugs and three counts of
distribution of other than crack cocaine within the proximity of a
school or park.
No court date on any of the charges is available.
