collision on Augusta Road
stalled traffic for about an hour Thursday afternoon when a man driving
a Chevrolet IROC-Z failed to stop and smashed into the back of a woman
in a Ford Explorer in front of the McDonalds. The driver of the Chevy
said he saw the woman slowing down but when he hit his brakes the car
did not stop due to what he claimed was wet road conditions.The driver of the Explorer was injured in the crash and complained of neck and back pain. She was immobilized by Edgefield County EMS and transported for further assessment of her injuries at the hospital. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage in the crash. The South Carolina Highway Patrol arrived and took over the investigation into the crash. The driver of the IROC-Z was cited in the crash. For all
