Myers Brought to Edgefield to Face Charges

web posted September 22, 2012

EDGEFIELD – One of two people wanted by Edgefield Police for housebreaking and possession of stolen goods, among other charges, has been released from the Aiken County Detention Center and arrived in Edgefield Friday afternoon. Nicholas Avery Meyers, 31 (left), is now being held at the Edgefield County Detention Center and is expected to have a bond hearing on Saturday. His accused accomplice, 30-year-old Latasha Lynn McClain, remains in custody in Aiken County.

As Edgefield Daily reported, the owner of a Buncombe Street home up for sale was discovered broken into and the couple moved in, according to police. When police inventoried the belongings many of the items turned up stolen, adding to the charges against the couple.

Thanks to the reporting of Edgefield Daily, the owner of a titanium wedding band has been returned to its owner after reading our report on the ring.

It is unknown when Ms. McClain will be brought to Edgefield to face her charges. According to online records of the Aiken County Detention Center, she has been sentenced to "time served" for her charges in Aiken County.
