Come Discuss Today’s Important Issues and Share Your Views ALL ARE WELCOME www.robertbarber2006.com Car chase ends when driver crashes in curve web posted September 23, 2006 EDGEFIELD – Shortly after 9 pm an Edgefield Police Officer radioed into dispatchers he was involved in a car chase with a silver Chevrolet Cobalt that refused to stop for his blue light. The driver took off during an attempted traffic stop and turned onto Youngblood Road headed towards Woodyard Road. Edgefield County Deputies also responded to the area to try to help stop the vehicle being chased. As the suspect car began increasing his speed a deputy informed the Edgefield Officer to be careful of a sharp curve on Youngblood Road. The officer backed away and just tried to keep a visual on the fleeing vehicle. Moments later the officer radioed that the vehicle had crashed in the curve. The driver was held at gunpoint until additional officers could arrive. EMS also respond the scene to treat minor facial injuries suffered by the driver. The man was taken into custody and transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center for processing. For
