Greg Anderson Replies to Negative Mailer
web
posted September 23, 2008
EDGEFIELD –
Edgefield small businessman
and candidate for state Senate District 25, Greg Anderson, responded
today to the negative special interest mailer sent on behalf of Shane
Massey. The mailer attacks Anderson for the endorsement he received
from the Conservation Voters of South Carolina. The Conservation
Voters are
South Carolina's leading non-partisan conservation advocates.
Anderson released the following statement:
"There is an old saying in politics and in life - if they're shooting
at you, you're probably doing something right. This is especially
true in the latest mailing that Shane Massey's special-interest allies
sent out over the weekend."
"All this attack mailer is doing is trying to distract the voters. The
same non-partisan conservation organization that endorsed Governor Mark
Sanford has endorsed me as the better candidate to represent the people
of District 25 in the state Senate. The Conservation Voters have
endorsed numerous Republican candidates for this fall's elections.
Since Shane Massey is not the most qualified candidate, his
out-of-touch Columbia friends are now attacking me for receiving the
endorsement."
"I make no apologies for being the better candidate who understands the
need for a balanced energy policy that meets our energy demands and
protects our needs for clean water and clean air. And I make no
apologies for being an independent voice who will put service above
politics," said Anderson.
