William Smith, County Council Candidate for Dist. 1 Announces October
Town Hall Meetings
web posted October 1, 2012
EDGEFIELD – County Council Candidate for
District 1, William Smith, has set up five 'Town Hall' style meetings
before the General Election, similar to the ones he had before the
primary. William feels that it is important to invite all of the
residents in District 1 and throughout the county, so these citizens
have a platform to voice concerns. These meetings are spread throughout
the district so that everyone has the opportunity to attend.
Mr. Smith has been campaigning throughout the district since he
announced in January. Smith states “We have a little over a month
left and everything is coming together nicely. We have picked up
a lot of support on the McCormick side of Edgefield County, the
northside, downtown, and areas surrounding Johnston. Residents
throughout the community are adamant for change. They want
respect placed back in District 1 and their voice heard so that we can
move forward. And they are right, change is desperately
needed. Doing the same thing for decades and expecting different
results is absurd. Mr. Dorn is set in his ways and his ways are
not in the benefit of District 1 or the county. I am ready to
bring back the respect to the seat and the voice of the people.
If we do not make a change now, we will continue another two years with
a lack of representation, continued disrespect toward council and the
people, and absolutely nothing getting done. We have been working
extremely hard for nine months to spread that message. It is
essential that people know if they want change, this is the time to do
it. We cannot wait any longer. It is important to remind
your neighbors, friends and family to go vote.”
What’s left on the campaign trail? Mr. Smith is still hitting areas on
the northside as well as in the Johnston area. He has visited
several churches and will be attending a few more over the coming weeks.
The dates are as follows for Mr. Smith's town hall style meetings:
Tuesday, October 16th- Macedonia Community Center 6:30 pm
Monday, October 22nd- McKendree Family Life Center on the Northside
7:30 pm
Saturday, October 27th- The Discovery Center 10:00 am - Noon
Monday, October 29th- Edgefield County Council Chambers 6:30 pm
Tuesday, October 30th- Chamber of Commerce in Johnston 6:30 pm
Please mark your calendars for these dates to meet Mr. Smith and to
express any community needs or concerns. He looks forward to meeting
you and representing you as your next District 1 Councilman.
Remember: Tuesday, November 6th is the day to “Restore the Voice to
District 1”.
Vote William P. Smith for County Council, District 1.
