Edgefield Xtreme Majors Defeat Legends 4-1
By John Brown
web posted October 16, 2012
EDGEFIELD – Behind a two hit performance
from pitchers William Prince, Michael Feagin and Jikeal Brown, the
Edgefield Xtreme Majors notched a 4-1 victory over a young Legends team
in Aiken Wednesday night. William Prince would get the start on the
hill and work two innings, giving up 2 hits, while walking one and
striking out six.
Michael Feagin would then come on in relief of Prince and pitch two
innings also. Feagin would shut out the Legend batters, walking
two and striking out 3. Jikeal Brown would pick up the save for
Edgefield, striking out 2, while walking one batter.
On the offensive side of the ball, Jud Childress and Wright Moyer would
lead Edgefield with two hits each. Stetson Mayson, William Prince, Josh
Knight, Chandler Mims, and Jikeal Brown would each have one hit for the
winners.
Head Coach, John Brown Jr. was far from pleased with the teams effort.
"This team seems to play up and down, depending on who the opponent is.
With the post season tournament coming up we simply can't afford to do
that. We've got to go out and play hard each and every night in order
to be competitive in this USSA league in Aiken. Hopefully the guys will
take this game and learn from it." Presently the Xtreme own a
5-4 won/loss record on the season.
