Edgefield Home Robbed of Guns, Electronics

web posted October 17, 2012

EDGEFIELD – A Youngblood Road man called the Sheriff's Office after arriving home Monday afternoon around 5:30 and finding his home had been targeted by burglars. In addition to stealing a flat screen TV, the person or persons also made off with a gun safe filled with guns.

According to an incident report released on Tuesday, the man discovered his 46" Sony LCD flat screen television and a green six gun "stack on" safe containing five guns including a Remington model 700 30-6 rifle with a BSA Cats Eye 9x30 scope with a total value of $700. A serial number for the gun is listed as E6398760.

Also stolen was a Tristar 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun with a synthetic stock valued at $400 with the serial number D9A03379, a New England Firearms 20 gauge single shot shotgun, an antique 12 gauge double barrel shotgun, and the final gun was not listed in the report. No serial numbers were available on the other weapons.

The total in stolen property and damage to the home where entry was gained was listed at $3,475. This did not include the antique shotgun, as no value was immediately available.
