Edgefield Bulldog Cheerleaders visit Trinity Mission

web posted October 28, 2008
EDGEFIELD – The Edgefield Bulldog Cheerleader 6, 7 & 8 year olds visited Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilition on October 26, 2008. The girls entertained many of Trinity's residents with cheers they perform on game nights. Coaches Deana Sumner and Angi Harter not only encourage team work, good sportsmanship and self discipline but also try to instill a sense of community service to their cheerleaders.

"We believe it's important the girls learn at an early age to give back to their community. Although it was only a few minutes of cheering, it brought smiles to the faces of the elderly who normally wouldn't get the chance to see the girls cheer.  Cheering at Trinity Mission showed the girls that it only takes a little bit of their time to make a positive difference in the lives of others,"Deana Sumner said.

The cheerleaders spent a few moments after cheering to talk with some of the residents. The Edgefield Bulldog Cheerleader 6, 7 & 8 year olds are sponsored by Bilbrey Communications, Southern Specialty Coatings and the Edgefield Medical Clinic.
