  ERA hosts Gingerbread House Contest web posted October 31, 2008 EDGEFIELD – Edgefield Regional Arts (ERA) is pleased to announce a Holiday Gingerbread House Contest open to all residents of the area. This is an opportunity for the whole family to participate in a creative venture. The more fanciful the better. Entries may be delivered to the Rocky Shop/ERA between 11 am on Thursday, November 20 and the deadline, 6 pm on Saturday, November 22. All entries will be on display, and for sale, at the Rocky Shop/ERA from Thursday, November 27 through Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24. Winners of the ERA Holiday Gingerbread House Contest will be announced, and awards distributed, on Saturday, December 6th as part of the Edgefield Christmas Parade. Beginning Thursday, October 24, the Rocky Shop/ERA will be open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 11AM-6PM until Christmas week, when it will open Monday, December 22, Tuesday, December 23, and Wednesday, December 24 from 11 am-6 pm. A retrospective of the paintings of ERA member Phyllis Brousseau will also be on display, as will the work of other ERA artists. All items in the shop will be for sale. A portion of the proceeds of all sales go to promote the activities of Edgefield Regional Arts (ERA). Edgefield Regional Arts is an association of more than 40 artists and writers in and around Edgefield, South Carolina, which sponsors art exhibits, literary events, and community activities for the benefit of its members and the public.
