Smith Congratulates Dorn on Win: Vows to Run Again

web posted November 7, 2012

EDGEFIELD – County Council candidate William "Bill" Smith issued the following statement conceding the race to Dist. 1 Councilman Norman Dorn. "I want to congratulate Mr. Norman Dorn (D) on his victory tonight".

"Obviously our team is disappointed and wanted to help change District 1 as we are alI in need of drastic change and real representation.  I believe there are two types of leaders.  There are those that are self motivated and do what needs to be done.  Then there are those that need a fire lit under them to motivate them.   We must continue lighting that fire to push our area forward as Mr. Dorn will need to motivated.

"Edgefield County is home and I still get to serve the best people possible:  The Children of Edgefield County

"I want to thank all of my supporters as it was overwhelming at times how quickly my family and I we're embraced.  I will forever be grateful to you all. We will continue building relationships, bridging differences, and growing our community together.

"I've already been asked if I will run again in 2014?  You better believe it!!"

William P. Smith
