Downtown
Edgefield Kicks-off the Holiday Season
web
posted November 15, 2007
EDGEFIELD – The autumn air has begun to
arrive in South Carolina and so has the holiday shopping season for
Edgefield’s downtown businesses. This weekend the merchants of
Edgefield will kick off the holiday season with a Merchants Open House
event on Friday, November 16th from 4pm until 8pm.
The night will be full of warm smiles and glowing lights from the shops
of Edgefield as the merchants showcase their businesses to
visitors. Many of the shops on and around Edgefield’s downtown
square will offer light refreshments and great prices on their
merchandise during the Merchants Open House.
With new stores and restaurants opening up on the square throughout
this past year, downtown Edgefield has more to offer this year than
ever before. From the unique gift shops to the artists’
galleries, Edgefield shops and restaurants have something for everyone
on your shopping list.
One of the many fabulous gift shops in Edgefield is Petal Pushers,
which is located just off the square. Ginger Lynn, owner of the
newly expanded Petal Pushers, says that she is excited about the
upcoming holiday season “because Edgefield has so much to offer - both
to locals and out-of-town visitors.” A couple that recently
visited her shop were from Charleston (SC) and they remarked at how
amazed they were with the variety of businesses in Edgefield and the
friendliness of the locals. Lynn also stated that “many of the
locals she has talked with are choosing to shop closer to home this
year to avoid fighting the mall’s holiday traffic.”
So whether you are looking to get a jump on your holiday shopping or
you just want to get some gift ideas, the merchants of Edgefield look
forward to seeing you on Friday, November 16th. And remember,
SHOP LOCAL, THINK LOCAL, BE LOCAL this holiday season.
