Stolen Truck Located in Johnston

web posted November 21, 2012

EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield woman called the Edgefield County Sheriff's Office after seeing someone driving her husbands black 2007 Ford F-650 on Long Cane Road around 5:30 Monday afternoon. The truck was parked at their home in Edgefield on Ouzts Road and her husband was out of town.

Sheriff's Deputies put out a BOLO (be on the look out) on the truck while talking to the owner by phone who stated that no one had permission to be driving the truck.

A Johnston Police Officer located the truck and made a traffic stop with the driver on May Street at Walker Street. The driver was identified as Reginald Lee Bletcher, 41, also of Ouzts Road.

According to an incident report, Bletcher stated he worked for the victim on his farm and borrowed the truck to visit his girlfriend and intended on returning it afterwards. Reports indicated he admitted he did not have permission to drive the truck. He was arrested on the scene and charged with grand larceny of a vehicle ($30,000) and booked into custody at the Edgefield County Detention Center.

A family member arrived on the scene and took possession of the truck and returned it to the family home.
