Town
of Edgefield to Host Christmas Parade Saturday
web
posted November 26, 2007
EDGEFIELD – Historic Edgefield is gearing
up for this weekend’s main event – the Edgefield Christmas
parade. Downtown Edgefield will be transformed this Saturday,
December 1st with the joyous sounds of parade participants and
spectators. The parade is set to begin at 4pm on the
square.
Santa Claus will be the parade’s guest of honor this Saturday when he
returns to Edgefield for the Christmas parade. He will remain on
the square after the parade for those who want to take pictures with
the jolly old elf.
Be sure to stay on the square after the parade ends for the Christmas
tree lighting at dusk. There will also be a special performance
by the Suzuki Strings of Augusta and Edgefield’s own God’s Little
Angels on the courthouse steps.
Arrive before the parade to make sure you have time to explore the
shops and museums on the square and in the surrounding area.
Edgefield has a lot to offer with shops that have everything from
stained glass, to historic Edgefield pottery, to the latest fashions in
interior home décor.
There are also several restaurants that offer a wide variety of choices
from soups & sandwiches to an elegant meal of Angus filet.
Edgefield is truly becoming a one-stop shopping experience for those
who wish to avoid the chaotic holiday traffic of Augusta and
Columbia.

Historic Edgefield, please call the Region 2 Discovery Center at (803)
