 Santa arrives in Edgefield web posted December 8, 2008  EDGEFIELD – Santa
Claus made an early
appearance in Edgefield on Sunday during the annual Edgefield Christmas
parade with over fifty entries again this year. This year’s Grand
Marshall was Becky Turner who was preceded in the parade by Edgefield
Police Chief Ronnie Carter. Emcees Calvin Henderson and Kerri Klein
were joined on the stage by the Grand Marshall Turner and Edgefield
Mayor Ken Durham as the parade continued.One by one the entries passed by the reviewing stage and included beauty queens, the Strom Thurmond Rebel Football Conference Champions and Marching Band, and dignitaries including State Senator Shane Massey, State Representative Bill Clyburn, and Edgefield County Council Chairman and vice-chair Monroe Kneece and Willie Bright. The Town of Edgefield provided free hot chocolate and cookies to those attending the festivities. Below is a short photo essay of the parade.  .    ©
