Winners announced in Poetry and Poster Contests

EDGEFIELD – The Commissioners of the Edgefield Conservation District are please to announce the winners of the 2009 Poetry Contest and the 2009 Poster Contest. There were 30 entries in the Poetry Contest and almost 100 entries in the Poster Contest. First place in each contest was awarded a new MP-3 player. Second, third and fourth places received cash awards or gift cards.
   
The winners in the Poetry Contest were as follows: first place was awarded to John Bannister of Merriwether Elementary; second place went to Cassidy Plennig of Merriwether Elementary; the third place award was given to Noah Westbrook of W.E. Parker  Elementary; Fourth Place (honorable mention) went to Sanford Satcher of  Wardlaw Academy.
   
The winners in the Poster Contest were as follows: first place was awarded to Nicholas Boyd of W.E. Parker Elementary; second place went to Jenny Boylston of Wardlaw Academy; the third place award was given to Lillie Boulware of W.E. Parker Elementary; Fourth Place (honorable mention) went to Lindsey Glover, Lee Jolly, Emily Cleveland, Will Holmes, Brendyia Parks, Hannah Cain, Adrianna Gaulden of Wardlaw Academy, Johnston Elementary, W.E. Parker Elementary, Merriwether Elementary.
