 Rental truck found on fire web posted December 24, 2009  EDGEFIELD – The
Edgefield Fire Department
was called to a vehicle fire at U-Ride Auto Sales and Rentals on
Augusta Road just after 4 pm Wednesday. When they arrived they found a
U-Haul moving van with the engine fully engulfed in flames. It is
unknown how the fire began.Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames quickly before it could spread throughout the truck.  A worker at the
business said the rental truck had been returned about
an hour before the fire started. He said while he was inside working a
nearby business owner ran in and told him the truck was on fire and to
call 911. The man then grabbed a fire extinguisher and fought the fire
until fire crews arrived.The truck suffered major fire and water damage. © Copyright 2009
