Edgefield man returns to find truck vandalized
web posted December 29, 2005

EDGEFIELD – An Edgefield man driving on Old Stage Road in Edgefield had his S-10 pick-up truck break down and he left it to get a new battery to make repairs. The man returned and installed the new battery but had to leave the truck in order to get to a doctor’s appointment. When he returned he found his truck completely vandalized.

Investigator Phil Ireland responded to the call and found that every window and exterior light had been broken out. In addition items from inside the truck were thrown about the area. The doors had been dented and other parts of the truck damaged. Investigator Ireland retrieved two shoe prints from one of the doors and also was able to get fingerprints.

The damage to the truck was estimated to be around $1,300. The owner had the vehicle towed for repairs. The case is still under investigation.
