County mourns senseless killing of brothers

web posted August 7, 2009
PARODY – Two deaths this week has brought great sorrow to the residents of Edgefield County. Two brothers, Trust and Integrity, were both found slaughtered after the Edgefield County Council meeting Tuesday night. Both were pronounced dead on the scene and reportedly died from massive trauma.

Trust, who maintained a high standard in Edgefield County over the years had outlived many brutal attacks and was severely handicapped as a result, however continued to remain active in the years preceding his death on Tuesday night when the final attack was more than his heart could handle.

Integrity was found lying not far from the body of Trust and suffered many of the same injuries.

The crime scene was littered with evidence that implicated Edgefield County Council Chairman Monroe Kneece, Vice chairman Willie Bright, and Councilman Norman Dorn. Investigators suggested that Edgefield Mayor Ken Durham and local Developer Bettis Rainsford are also considered suspected in the slayings.

An autopsy will not be performed due to their bodies being completely dismembered.

The brothers were preceded in death by their parents, Honor and Truth, who were found murdered several years ago at the same location. Kneece, Bright, and Dorn are currently listed as the lead suspects in those deaths as well, though no arrests have been made at this writing. Bettis Rainsford, former County Administrator Wayne Adams, and current Administrator John Pettigrew are all listed as possible accomplices in the crimes.

In a related case, Grandparents Liberty and Freedom we brutally murdered in 1999. Their bodies were found lying outside the Edgefield County Courthouse shortly after a vote to zone the unincorporated area of Merriwether by the Edgefield County Council.

No visitation will be held as the entire family is now deceased. Private memorials will be held across the county to remember Trust and Integrity, their parents, and grandparents.
