Expressing personal distress over Teri
Schiavo death Edgefielddaily.com web posted April 27, 2005 Staff reporting We noticed the flag flying on the flag pole of Edgefield County Councilman Joel Hudson at half mast and in the distress position, upside down. The reason behind the distress signal, according to Cathy Hudson, was to express her heartfelt disdain for what happened to Teri Shciavo who was starved to death without a living will. He husband, Michael Shciavo, who was living with his common-law wife with their own children, took the matter to court in order to force doctors to allow his true wife to die of dehydration. Edgefield Daily.com agrees with the distress signal. When a nation allows an innocent handicapped woman to be killed and fights to keep convicted killers alive, our nation is in serious distress. Perhaps more should follow her lead until the activist judges are removed and protection of life returns. How far down a slippery slope have we as a nation slid? Children are aborted, some killed during birth, the handicapped are withheld food and water (you would be jailed for doing the same to your dog) until they die, and the American left wants things decided by the "quality of life" measure. They being the ones getting to decide that quality of life, of course. Close up of the above photo More should join the desire to hold government and the courts accountable for their actions and express it in like manner. Note: This posting is opinion based. To offer a differing view you may contact the Editor and your position will be posted as well. A special thanks to Cathy Hudson for contacting us and expressing so eloquently what so many have tried to express in words. A picture is truly worth a thousand words. Return to
