![]() Paid for by the Candidate Fox Creek High School Officials slow to report crime web posted Apri 19, 2006 MERRIWETHER – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of hundreds of dollars being stolen from two offices at Fox Creek Charter High School on Monday. When a Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at the school he was informed that $220 had been taken from one office and $200 had been taken from a second. The theft, the school said, occurred between March 22 and March 23. According to reports, the two offices were able to be broken into with a “credit card” but deadbolts have since been installed on the doors. The money in once office was kept in “separate files” in the desk drawer and a petty cash box. The money taken from a teacher’s office was “hidden in a box” and covered with other boxes. The Deputy advised the School Officials of the remedies and services available. He also informed the officials that when a crime has occurred they needed to report it immediately rather than waiting almost a month. For
