Weekly gas survey; Gas climbs to $2.81

COUNTY – Area gas prices continued to rise this week as the average price of gas jumped to $2.81. A fourteen cent increase in the last week. Prices varied only eight cents between retailers. Greg's Gas Plus, S&S Truck Stop, and Sportsman's Corner in Merriwether took the award for the lowest reported prices at $2.78. The highest reported price of $2.86 a gallon came from the Kent's Corner in Edgefield. Below is the report of all 17 reporting stations.
