Second Annual Family Reunion Resource Show to take place February 27

web posted February 11 2010
GREENWOOD – The second annual Family Reunion Resource Show, sponsored by the Greenwood Regional Tourism and Visitors Bureau, will take place on Saturday, February 27 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Arts and Visitors Center at the Federal Building, 120 Main Street. The purpose of the show is to show family reunion planners the resources and businesses available in planning their next event.

Registration is still open for vendors and the cost for a table top booth is $25.00.  The entry fee includes 10’x10’ space with 6 foot table and 2 chairs. Reservations accepted on a first come, first served basis.

“We learned about this idea from a Convention and Visitors Bureau in Georgia and they always receive positive feedback from their planners”, said Kelly McWhorter, Exec. Director of the Visitors Bureau.

“We hope to provide our attendees with as much information as possible to help their reunion be successful and well attended. Our goal is to feature approximately 25 vendors including hotels, caterers, photographers, local attractions, transportation, screen printers, and more.Greenwood is a great location for family reunions with some excellent meeting facilities. We look forward to servicing more and more events in the future.”

A new feature this year will include workshops that will feature a genealogy workshop as well as a workshop on how to maximize and utilize the services from the Greenwood Visitors Bureau. Each workshop will be about 20 minutes long and will take place at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively.

Any business looking for potential marketing opportunities with family reunions is welcome to participate. Each vendor will be asked to provide a door prize with a $25 value which will be awarded throughout the event. Also, the Visitors Bureau will be providing samples of visitors’ bags for the attendees. During this event only, vendors will receive the opportunity to insert one promotional item (flyer, coupon, pens, etc.) into these bags. To register for the event as a vendor, contact Lindsay Burns at 864-953-2464 or via email at lindsay.burns@cityofgreenwoodsc.com.
